Four-Day Weekend Fun, Frow-up, and Firetrucks!

Sometimes a four day weekend is just what you need. Seeing as we have had no snow what-so-ever this year, folks at WMK still had two weather days! So  Katie and I headed off to B'ham for Katie's 1st outing without her sweet pea! We were on a mission to find fun backdrop material/accessories for Allie's newborn photo shoot. The trip was lots of fun...little did I know what the night would bring....FROW-UP!! Connor got the yucky tummy virus. Luckily, he didn't pass it on to Mommy or Daddy!

24 hours later Connor was feeling pretty good so we headed to get some fresh air (after smelling Lysol disinfectant for 24 hours!). We started off our day at Toys-R-Us. Connor had saved up $40.00 from holidays and such. He had his heart set on a red fire truck! After a stop at the toy shop, we headed to Rojo and the Birmingham Museum of Art (crafts on Sundays). The art museum was a fun/free way to spend the afternoon since Connor had not been there before. We were tired after such a fun day, but luckily we were able to rest on Monday.

"Mommy, I want to put our baby back in God's belly!"

Oh the funny things that Connor says! He and I were laying in bed, and I was explaining to him about some of the changes that would take place once our sweet baby arrived. I told him that God had given Baby Smith for us to love and care for. He responded by saying that he really wanted to put the baby back in God's belly! Of course, I don't blame him. He has been the center of our family's world for almost four years!

I decided to take Connor to the doctor with me today to get him "more excited" about our new addition...hehe. The appointment was for our 16 week check-up. Baby Smith's heart rate was in the 150s...same as last visit...??? We will find out what our sweet pea is when Cousin Allie is wearing her 1-month sticker (May 9th). Can't wait!

April Fun!

What wonderful weather has welcomed us in April! So far our April has been full of fun. It started off with the newest edition to our family-Baby Allie, and the fun has continued with birthday parties, park visits, and more!

We- R- Preggo!

Well, my 2nd pregnancy has been a bit harder than the first. With Connorman, I was sick from weeks 7 to 15, and with this little darling it has been from week 6 to 16 ....and counting.  Some random words and phrases I will use to describe this pregnancy are GREEN, strawberry throw-up, morning-noon-and especially- night sickness, twins?, Evie, Campbell, Coke, and "Mommy, is your baby making you tired?" This sweet blessing was a little bit of a surprise, and we can wait to find out if we are having a Charlotte Evie or a Campbell Graham! Dr. Freeman thinks we are having a "red-headed, brown-eyed girl." We think Baby Smith is a girl too, but only time will tell. We will be thrilled either way. I'm just ready to start shopping!

And Baby Makes Three!

Baby Allie is here! Baby Allie is here! Congratulations to Uncle Andrew and Aunt Katie! Allene Elizabeth Abbott came into the world making the sweetest cry (so says her mother) at around 12:05 p.m. She is a beautiful 6 pounds, 10 ounces and stretches out 20 inches long! So far she has been the best baby ever...waking up only to nurse! I can't quite tell yet, but I'm thinking she looks like her daddy! Connor was very excited to meet his newest cousin. He was sporting his "Super Cousin"shirt!

 

Hoppy Easter!

Easter weekend was relaxing and fun! We started off by dyeing eggs at Sissy's with our Maddie, Tara, and Harold on Friday. Connor was very patient with his eggs. He let them sit and sit and sit. However, Cousin Madison got hers done very quickly. Saturday we went to church with Uncle Drew, Aunt Katie, Justin, Haley, and Sully, and then topped it off by going to Connor's favorite place, "the choo choo train store" (a.k.a. Barnes and Nobles). Sunday was the most exciting of course because the Easter Bunny came to see Connorman! We got lots of goodies including some paint, a new swim suit, a "hatch your own caterpillars" kit, a Dragon Tails DVD, and much more. Of course that was his third Easter basket. His Pippy and Ree Ree gave him lots of goodies earlier in the weekend! We had lunch at Sissy's and a big Easter egg hunt with Cousin Madison and Cousin Colson! Connor was thilled about finding 18 eggs ($4.00)!

Connor was very excited to go take pictures with one of his newest friends...Baby Wells. However, he was a little disappointed when he discovered that we would not be seeing baby whales, baby sharks, or baby dolphins! Nonetheless, Connor and Baby Wells had lots of springtime fun at their photo shoot. Here are a couple of shots from our photographer...a.k.a. "Dada."
